Job Summary
The Phlebotomist plays a vital role in the healthcare system by collecting blood specimens through various methods while ensuring the comfort and safety of patients. This position requires precision and professionalism as it directly contributes to patient care and diagnostic processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture procedures for blood collection.
- Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of blood samples.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the blood collection area.
- Provide compassionate care to patients during procedures.
- Adhere to safety and infection control protocols at all times.
- Assist in the training of new staff and maintain equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program is preferred.
- Certification from a recognized professional body in phlebotomy is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Detail-oriented with the capability to follow protocols and procedures.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is favorable.
