Job Summary
The Phlebotomist plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by conducting blood draws, managing specimen labeling and processing, and ensuring laboratory equipment is kept in compliance with safety protocols. This position requires effective communication with patients to enhance their experience during the sample collection process while meticulously documenting patient information.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws and ensure proper handling of specimens.
- Label and process samples in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Record accurate patient information and maintain confidentiality.
- Communicate clearly and courteously with patients throughout the collection procedure.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Valid Phlebotomy certification as mandated by state regulations.
- At least 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a busy laboratory or hospital environment.
