Job Summary
The Phlebotomy Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting by collecting blood samples from patients and ensuring their secure transport to the laboratory. This position is fundamental in maintaining accurate laboratory results and supporting patient care.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure proper identification of patients to prevent errors during specimen collection.
- Safeguard patient information, adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Transport blood samples to the laboratory while following safety protocols.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Completion of HeartSaver CPR training is necessary.
- Previous experience in a related field is highly preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) is strongly encouraged.
