Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role in the healthcare system, specializing in performing diagnostic imaging procedures. This position involves preparing and positioning patients for imaging examinations, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining the quality of images produced for accurate diagnosis.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures on patients as per physician orders.
- Prepare and explain imaging procedures to patients to alleviate concerns and ensure comfort.
- Position patients correctly for optimal imaging results.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during imaging procedures.
- Maintain and operate imaging equipment, ensuring functionality and cleanliness.
- Document patient information and imaging results accurately in medical records.
- Collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current certification and registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) from the ARRT or equivalent.
- Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and understanding imaging techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment.
