Radiology Technologist

Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist plays a vital role in the healthcare team, responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations and ensuring the highest quality of images are produced for accurate interpretation by radiologists. This position requires a deep understanding of radiographic procedures and a commitment to patient safety and care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a variety of imaging procedures, such as X-rays and CT scans, following established protocols.
  • Prepare patients for imaging by explaining the procedures and ensuring their comfort.
  • Maintain and operate radiographic equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly.
  • Adhere to safety standards to protect patients from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to discuss patient needs and imaging requirements.
  • Keep detailed records of procedures and patient histories for accurate medical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current certification and registration with the appropriate professional body, such as ARRT.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as radiographic techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while providing excellent patient care.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with patients and medical personnel.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
