The RCM/OPH Insurance Verification Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that payer information is accurate and up-to-date to facilitate smooth claims processing and maximize revenue collection for the organization. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of various insurance plans.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive insurance verification for patients to confirm coverage details before services are rendered.
- Work closely with healthcare providers to collect and organize necessary documentation for insurance claims.
- Identify discrepancies in patient information and resolve issues swiftly to avoid delays in payment.
- Maintain precise records of insurance verifications and communication with payers.
- Assist in training new staff on insurance verification processes and best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing and insurance verification.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and various insurance plans.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using healthcare management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
