Job Summary
The Recreation Therapy Aide plays a vital role in assisting recreation therapists in implementing therapeutic activities aimed at improving the physical, emotional, and social well-being of clients. This role is essential in enhancing the patient care experience through engaging recreational programs and activities.
Responsibilities
- Support the recreation therapy team in planning and executing therapeutic recreation activities.
- Assist clients in participating in recreational programs designed to promote healing and well-being.
- Help set up and take down equipment necessary for recreational activities.
- Encourage participation and provide supervision during activities.
- Document client participation and report any significant observations to the recreation therapist.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; further education in recreation therapy or a related field is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals in a therapeutic or recreational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
- A passion for promoting health and wellness through recreational activities.
