Job description

Job Summary

The Recreation Therapy Aide plays a vital role in assisting recreation therapists in implementing therapeutic activities aimed at improving the physical, emotional, and social well-being of clients. This role is essential in enhancing the patient care experience through engaging recreational programs and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the recreation therapy team in planning and executing therapeutic recreation activities.
  • Assist clients in participating in recreational programs designed to promote healing and well-being.
  • Help set up and take down equipment necessary for recreational activities.
  • Encourage participation and provide supervision during activities.
  • Document client participation and report any significant observations to the recreation therapist.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; further education in recreation therapy or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience working with individuals in a therapeutic or recreational setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
  • A passion for promoting health and wellness through recreational activities.
