Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) plays a pivotal role in delivering critical care to patients facing life-threatening health issues. This nursing position requires a dedicated professional capable of managing complex patient needs while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive and continuous nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs and health status meticulously.
- Administer medications and treatments as per established protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate effectively with doctors, specialists, and other health care professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families regarding health management and discharge processes.
- Document all aspects of patient care thoroughly and accurately in the health record.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives within the ICU.
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment while following infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Previous experience in an ICU setting is highly desirable.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage high-stress situations with professionalism and composure.
