Job Summary
The RN – Surgery position is essential for delivering high-quality nursing care in the surgical environment. This role involves collaborating closely with the surgical team to ensure patient safety, monitor surgical procedures, and provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care and possess excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and management of the surgical environment.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and condition during surgeries.
- Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to deliver effective patient care.
- Document all patient care and surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records.
- Educate patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and recovery processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in the operating room.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience in a surgical setting or operating room environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
