Job Summary
The Surgical Nurse plays a vital role in delivering patient care during surgical operations. This includes preparing the operating room and offering assistance to the surgical team. The Surgical Nurse is also responsible for ensuring equipment sterility, maintaining patient care records, and mentoring new staff members.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Assist the surgical team during operations.
- Manage and maintain sterile surgical instruments and equipment.
- Document patient care activities accurately.
- Train and orient new nursing staff regarding procedures and policies.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Indiana.
- Minimum of two years of experience in circulating or scrub roles in a surgical setting.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- A minimum of an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree is necessary.
