Job Summary
A Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing the patients’ abilities to communicate effectively and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations to determine the communication and swallowing abilities of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address specific needs.
- Guide and educate patients and their families on therapy techniques and goals.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Monitor and document patients’ progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Current state license and certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with diverse patient populations is preferred.
