Job Summary
University Health Truman Medical Center is actively looking for a Sterile Processing Technician to become a valuable part of the Sterile Processing team during the day shift in Kansas City, Missouri. This position operates on-site and is integral to maintaining the efficiency and safety of surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of sterile supplies for operating rooms.
- Maintain and operate sterilization equipment effectively.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and quality standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Certification in Central Service/Instrument Technology or completion of a Surgical Tech program is mandatory.
- At least 5 years of experience with operating room instruments is essential.
- Strong understanding of sterilization processes and safety measures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
