Job Summary
The Surgery Center Staff Nurse plays a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This position demands a skilled and compassionate nursing professional who can collaborate effectively with surgical teams to ensure an efficient and safe patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients, including preoperative and postoperative assessments.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses during the surgical process.
- Coordinate with surgeons and other healthcare staff to prepare for surgeries and manage operating room supplies.
- Educate patients and their families on the surgical process and aftercare requirements.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document care provided.
- Adhere to safety and infection control policies to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a surgical or procedural nursing role is preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and team members.
