The Surgical Student Extern provides technical care to surgical and obstetric patients while maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room. Responsibilities include transporting patients, setting up equipment, assisting with diagnostic procedures, and performing cleanup tasks. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be currently enrolled in an approved Surgical Tech degree program. A successfully completed basic clinical skills lab and BLS certification are required.
