Surgical Support Technician
$15/HR

1st, 2nd and 3rd Shift
Responsibilities of the Surgical Support Technician:
- Conducts targeted rounds in active patient areas to retrieve assets for processing and redistribution.
- Must possess strong verbal communication skills for interaction with nurses, patients, and visitors.
- Cleans, sorts, and delivers various medical devices and equipment while troubleshooting any functional issues.
- Completes performance checks and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintains detailed records of all work tasks in electronic databases.
- May be responsible for coordinating resources for daily operations.
- Demonstrates urgency to ensure timely delivery of equipment to meet service level agreements.
- Inspects, evaluates, cleans, and delivers designated medical devices.
- Accurately documents work activities in an electronic system.
- Carries out the delivery and collection of specialty carts, medical devices, beds, and durable medical equipment.
- May be tasked with ordering supplies and ensuring compliance with unit/department budgets, as well as stocking patient rooms or distributing supplies as needed, along with other assigned duties.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Demonstrates critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and a capacity to work with minimal oversight.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond appropriately to situations.
- Ability to work in an environment with exposure to blood.
- Capable of walking extensive distances (up to 5 miles daily) while managing a cart of equipment and supplies.
- Able to lift equipment exceeding 35 lbs.
- Competent in pushing or pulling heavy carts of equipment, exceeding 100 lbs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via phone, in written form, through email, or in person.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BLS Certification is desirable.
