Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist in the Main Operating Room at Mercy Hospital NWA plays a critical role in supporting surgical teams by ensuring that the operating environment is safe, sterile, and organized. This professional is responsible for coordinating patient care in collaboration with the surgical team and ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room prior to surgical procedures by ensuring the necessary equipment and instruments are ready and sterile.
- Assist surgical teams by passing instruments and providing assistance during operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout surgical procedures.
- Participate in patient care coordination, ensuring clear communication among team members regarding the needs of the surgical patient.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment to prevent infections.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification as a surgical technologist is preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and sterile techniques.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and maintaining a safe operating environment.
