Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the Operating Room at Mercy Hospital NWA. This position is responsible for facilitating an effective surgical environment by coordinating care for patients alongside the surgical team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining the flow of the operation.
- Monitor and maintain a safe environment for patients throughout the surgical process.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care and support for surgical patients.
- Participate in the setup of surgical procedures and the disposal of surgical waste post-operation.
- Stay informed about advancements in surgical technologies and techniques.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Prior experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
