Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist OR plays a vital role in the operating room by supporting surgical procedures and ensuring that the environment and instruments are sterile and ready for use. This position is essential for delivering high-quality patient care during surgeries and assisting the surgical team with various tasks. The role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals to meet patient needs effectively.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring that all surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and organized.
- Assist surgical teams during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a clear and focused environment.
- Execute fire safety processes to maintain a secure setting during surgeries.
- Label and manage surgical items to comply with sterilization standards.
- Work closely with patient care providers to assess and address patient needs pre- and post-operation.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (such as ORT).
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist or equivalent.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and fire safety protocols in a surgical setting.
- Ability to effectively communicate and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
