Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room (OR) at the University of Rochester Medical Center plays a vital role in the surgical team, providing essential support in surgical procedures. This position requires collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective and safe operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Ensure all surgical instruments are properly sterilized and arranged.
- Support surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Monitor patient safety and assist in maintaining necessary medical supplies during surgery.
- Participate in post-operative care and assist in the transportation of patients as required.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent experience.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient safety.
