Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist OR plays a crucial role in supporting surgical operations by ensuring that the surgical environment is safe, sterile, and well-prepared. This position involves working closely with the surgical team to facilitate smooth and efficient procedures, making it essential for ensuring patient safety and care quality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Assist in the assembly of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Ensure that all surgical items comply with sterilization standards.
- Participate in fire safety processes related to surgical environments.
- Collaborate with patient care providers to assess and meet patient needs before, during, and after surgery.
- Maintain accurate labels and documentation related to surgical procedures.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and safety practices in an operating room setting.
- Ability to work effectively within a surgical team and communicate clearly.
- Experience in assessing patient care needs effectively is beneficial.
