Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist OR plays a critical role in the operating room by assisting medical professionals during surgical procedures. This position requires adherence to strict sterilization protocols and readiness to address fire safety measures while preparing the surgical environment to ensure patient safety and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and other healthcare personnel in the operating room.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies meet stringent sterilization standards.
- Actively engage in fire safety protocols during surgical procedures.
- Prepare the surgical site and operate necessary equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patient care providers to assess patient needs during surgeries.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Surgical Technician program or equivalent training.
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligibility for certification.
- Understanding of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in the operating room.
