Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist – OR plays a crucial role in assisting surgical teams by preparing the operating rooms, ensuring the sterilization of instruments, and providing support during surgical procedures. This position emphasizes patient safety, the maintenance of sterile environments, and the proficient management of surgical tools.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room before procedures to ensure a sterile and efficient environment.
- Wrap and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment to maintain hygiene standards.
- Assist the surgical team during operations, ensuring that all necessary tools are readily available.
- Pay close attention to patient safety protocols throughout the surgical process.
- Maintain proper communication with surgical staff to support efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; further education in surgical technology is preferred.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
