Job Summary
University Health is looking for a dedicated surgical technologist to support the operating room team in Providence, Rhode Island. This position involves ensuring a sterile environment for surgical procedures while working under the guidance of a nurse or physician.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
- Scrub in for surgeries, maintaining aseptic techniques throughout the procedure.
- Help in positioning patients correctly for various surgical operations.
- Manage the sterilization of surgical instruments and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Stock and maintain appropriate supplies in the operating room.
Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technology program or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Current certification as a surgical technologist is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instruments.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic operating room environment.
