The telemetry technician is responsible for the constant observation and interpretation of cardiac monitor patterns and rates. They must document rhythm strips, report changes to appropriate personnel, and maintain accurate patient records. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be current in BLS certification. No previous experience is required, but the role demands the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and perform under stressful situations.
