Job Summary
The position involves conducting diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in evaluating and treating patients. The role includes performing standard sonography procedures and providing direct care to a diverse patient population, ranging from neonates to geriatric individuals, ensuring they are properly attended to until they are either returned to their room or discharged. Additionally, participation in on-call staffing is a requirement of the job.
Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic ultrasound examinations to support physician evaluations and treatment planning.
- Perform routine sonography procedures while maintaining high standards of care.
- Provide direct care to patients across all age groups, ensuring their comfort and safety during the ultrasound process.
- Assist in the transition of care for patients, accompanying them until they return to their room or are discharged.
- Participate in on-call staffing responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited ultrasound technology program is mandatory.
- A preference for candidates with an associate or bachelor’s degree in ultrasound technology.
- Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound techniques, associated terminology, procedures, and an understanding of physiology and anatomy.
- ARDMS certification in abdomen and/or OB is required.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) from the American Heart Association is essential.
