Job Summary

The Multicraft Maintenance Technician position in Akron, OH offers a competitive wage of $35-45 per hour. This role involves actively engaging in maintenance and fabrication tasks within a manufacturing setting. Candidates must possess solid welding expertise and experience in fabrication, with a capability to undertake a range of general maintenance duties. The incumbent will be adept at working with small parts and carry out welding tasks in challenging locations. This role is pivotal in transforming initial designs into production-ready systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine mechanical and industrial maintenance across the facility.
  • Execute welding repairs and fabrication tasks as necessary.
  • Weld small components and assemblies, particularly in tight or confined areas.
  • Interpret drawings, sketches, and measurements to aid fabrication and repairs.
  • Install mechanical parts and manage conduit and enclosure routing.
  • Work in conjunction with engineering teams to address build challenges and enhance manufacturability.
  • Assist in defining and documenting standard assembly processes.
  • Facilitate the transition from prototype stages to consistent production.
  • Troubleshoot and fix equipment and mechanical components.
  • Support the installation, modification, and repair of machinery and facility equipment.
  • Safely and effectively use a range of hand and power tools.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in industrial maintenance is required, with 10+ years preferred.
  • Proficiency in hands-on welding is essential.
  • Must demonstrate expertise in MIG welding.
  • Experience in metal fabrication processes such as fitting, cutting, and grinding is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude paired with effective troubleshooting skills is necessary.
  • Capacity to climb ladders and lift weights of up to 50 pounds is essential.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment is crucial.
  • A keen attention to detail and dedication to maintaining workplace safety is vital.
