Job Summary
The Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) position requires an individual with strong clinical skills to provide direct patient care in a medical-surgical setting. This role focuses on ensuring high standards of nursing practice and delivering comprehensive care to patients with a variety of conditions. The candidate will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to optimize patient health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver quality nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the medical team promptly.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and maintain accurate documentation.
- Educate patients and their families about health management and post-discharge care.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
- Assist in performing various medical procedures and interventions under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and resolve issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in Med/Surg nursing is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; ACLS certification may be required depending on the facility.
