Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in providing patient care by managing and delivering respiratory therapy services. This professional is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with respiratory issues while ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients’ respiratory status.
- Implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician orders.
- Administer various types of respiratory therapies, including but not limited to, oxygen therapy and aerosol medications.
- Monitor patients’ progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory health and therapeutic procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures and equipment.
- Ability to assess and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using electronic medical record systems.
