Job Summary
The role involves leading the team of IV admixture technicians and managing the daily operations of sterile compounding. This position serves as a vital technical resource for both the pharmacy and clinical personnel, with a strong emphasis on ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the IV admixture technician team.
- Oversee staffing needs and daily operations related to sterile compounding.
- Act as a technical resource for pharmacy and clinical staff members.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and patient safety through quality audits.
- Manage inventory and purchasing activities effectively.
- Oversee waste management processes.
- Prepare and analyze operational reports.
Qualifications
- Possession of an active Arizona Pharmacy Technician License.
- National CPhT certification is required.
- A high school diploma or GED is necessary.
- A minimum of five years of experience in IV compounding or equivalent graduation from an accredited IV Admixture Technician program.
- Proven skills in aseptic technique and pharmaceutical calculations.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy technologies.
- A valid driver’s license.
