Job Summary

The Heart Failure ICU RN is a specialized nursing role focused on providing comprehensive care to patients suffering from heart failure within the Intensive Care Unit. This position requires a strong clinical foundation and the ability to manage complex patient scenarios related to cardiovascular health. The RN will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes through timely assessments and interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to heart failure patients in the ICU setting.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor vital signs.
  • Implement and evaluate nursing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families about heart failure management and lifestyle adjustments.
  • Maintain documentation of patient care activities and outcomes for regulatory compliance and quality assurance.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required.
  • Experience in critical care nursing, preferably with a focus on cardiac care.
  • Strong knowledge of heart failure management and treatment protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make critical decisions under pressure.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications are preferred.
