Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist I plays a vital role in supporting the operating room (OR) team by ensuring that surgical procedures run smoothly. This position is focused on providing the necessary assistance and support for surgical staff, facilitating patient care, and maintaining a sterile environment throughout all surgical operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team with preparing the operating room for surgeries.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are properly sterilized and ready for use.
- Provide assistance during surgical procedures by handing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor the surgical environment to guarantee adherence to safety and hygiene protocols.
- Participate in the post-operative care process by assisting with the cleanup of the operating room and the proper storing of instruments.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program is required.
- Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) is preferred.
- Basic understanding of surgical procedures and the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in maintaining sterility and monitoring surgical instruments.
