Job Summary
The role focuses on assessing the occupational therapy requirements of designated patients, formulating and adjusting treatment plans, and administering rehabilitation services as prescribed by medical professionals, all in alignment with established professional and health system standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations of patients’ occupational therapy needs.
- Design and modify treatment plans based on patient assessments.
- Implement medically recommended rehabilitation interventions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding treatment and recovery.
- Facilitate referrals to additional clinical services as necessary.
- Assist in the training and supervision of occupational therapy students.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy is mandatory.
- Possession of a New York State occupational therapist license or a temporary permit; candidates with a permit must secure licensure within three months of hire.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are essential.
- Current BLS or CPR/AED certification from recognized organizations such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- A clinical doctorate in occupational therapy is preferred, enhancing professional expertise.
