Job Summary
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the healthcare team, providing essential support to physicians and ensuring smooth operation within clinical settings. This position involves both administrative and clinical responsibilities to facilitate patient care and enhance office efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Manage patient records and documentation to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and follow-up visits.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms by cleaning and ensuring necessary supplies are available.
- Take patient vitals and update them in the electronic medical record system.
- Educate patients regarding their medications, treatment plans, and preventive health measures.
- Handle billing, insurance claims, and other administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant training program is preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and healthcare software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
