Job Summary
Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital is looking for a Sterile Processing Technician to join the team, focusing on the decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments used in the Operating Room (OR) and Sterile Processing. This role is crucial for ensuring that sterile products and case carts are prepared in a timely manner, working closely with OR personnel while upholding the highest standards of sterilization practices.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment to eliminate contaminants.
- Assemble and prepare surgical instrument sets and case carts for procedures.
- Ensure instruments are properly sterilized according to hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with OR staff to meet operational needs and schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sterile processing area.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician program or equivalent.
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician is preferred.
- Strong understanding of sterilization techniques and safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
