Job Summary
The Seasonal Physician Assistant in Hand, Wrist, Elbow & Orthopaedic Trauma will play a critical role in delivering specialized medical care within an orthopaedic setting. This position involves supporting the healthcare team in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, focusing on patients with specific needs related to hand and upper extremity injuries.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the assessment and management of patients presenting with hand, wrist, elbow, and other orthopaedic trauma-related conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Perform physical examinations and obtain patient histories to support diagnosis.
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate records in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Provide patient education regarding treatment options and rehabilitation processes.
- Participate in surgical procedures as required, assisting the surgical staff and providing pre- and post-operative care.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Physician Assistant certification, licensed to practice in the relevant state.
- Experience in orthopaedic settings, particularly with expertise in hand and upper extremity care preferred.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with patients and the healthcare team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
