The Patient Care Technician performs direct patient care activities, including obtaining vital signs, assisting with medical procedures, and supporting nursing staff. They also handle clerical duties, maintain equipment, and coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and hold an EMT license, CNA certification, or be a second-year nursing student. A minimum of one year of experience in an acute care setting and BLS certification are required.
