Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist, also known as the OR Sterile Field Specialist, plays a crucial role in surgical settings by providing essential support to the surgical team. This position is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, ensuring that all instruments and supplies are correctly prepared and available for surgical procedures, and assisting with patient care during surgeries.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize the operating room by ensuring all sterile instruments and supplies are readily available.
- Assist the surgical team with various tasks before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Maintain aseptic techniques to uphold a sterile environment throughout the surgery.
- Help in the positioning of patients and ensuring their comfort and safety during procedures.
- Manage the inventory of surgical instruments and assist in ordering supplies as necessary.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining patient safety.
