Job Summary
The role of the Surgical Technologist involves assisting in surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary items are prepared and adhere to sterilization standards. This position is critical within the surgical team at the Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, focusing on safety and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize the operating room and necessary surgical instruments.
- Ensure all surgical items and equipment meet sterilization criteria.
- Coordinate with various patient care providers to assess and address the needs of patients undergoing surgery.
- Maintain knowledge of and adherence to fire safety processes within the operating room environment.
- Participate actively during surgical procedures, following established protocols.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech II or Operating Room Technician program.
- Demonstrated ability to assess patient needs and respond effectively.
- Strong knowledge of sterilization methods and surgical practices.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with medical staff.
- Ability to function efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
