Job Summary
The Perioperative OR Tech – Certified Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in supporting surgical teams by preparing and maintaining equipment, ensuring the operating room is sterile, and assisting surgeons and nurses during procedures. This position is essential for delivering high-quality patient care and facilitating smooth surgical operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surgical instruments and equipment for various procedures.
- Ensure a sterile environment in the operating room to prevent infections.
- Assist surgeons and nurses with necessary instruments and supplies during surgical operations.
- Maintain and clean surgical tools and equipment post-procedure.
- Participate in the setup and breakdown of the operating room before and after surgeries.
- Monitor and manage surgical supplies and materials, ensuring availability for procedures.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in a surgical setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with medical staff.
