Job Summary
The Specimen Technician plays a crucial role in entering test orders, as well as processing and preparing laboratory specimens for subsequent analysis. This position involves overseeing the logistics of specimen pickup and delivery, and addressing any challenges concerning different specimen types.
Responsibilities
- Enter data for test orders accurately in the laboratory information system.
- Process and prepare specimens to ensure they are ready for analysis.
- Manage transportation of specimens including their pickup and delivery.
- Identify and resolve issues that arise regarding specimen types and their handling.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.
- No prior experience is mandatory; however, experience in a production or medical setting is advantageous.
