Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist: OR Team Champion role focuses on providing comprehensive support in the operating room environment. The individual in this position is tasked with ensuring that all surgical procedures run smoothly and efficiently by collaborating closely with surgeons and other medical professionals. The role requires a deep understanding of surgical procedures and materials in order to assist during operations effectively.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by arranging and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sterilization protocols to maintain a safe surgical environment.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to enhance efficiency and workflow.
- Participate actively in the training and mentoring of new staff and surgical technologists.
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and assist in ordering necessary materials.
Qualifications
- Completion of a surgical technology program accredited by a recognized institution.
- Certification as a surgical technologist, such as CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) preferred.
- Proven experience in a surgical setting, demonstrating proficiency in surgical procedures and assistance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
