Job Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in the accounting department, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing statements, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This position is critical in supporting the financial integrity of the organization through diligent oversight and analysis of accounting data.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed financial reports and monthly reconciliations to support decision-making processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations while managing end-to-end financial closing processes.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by incorporating financial data and trends.
- Review and improve accounting procedures, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits to provide necessary information and documentation.
- Participate in accounting system upgrades and enhancements to improve reporting capabilities and processes.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
