Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room (OR) at our Brooklyn, New York facility will play a critical role in delivering compassionate care to patients and their families. This position is essential in providing a broad spectrum of medical services and supports various surgical specialties. The Surgical Technologist will assist surgeons and registered nurses by ensuring a sterile environment and helping with the preparation and management of surgical instruments and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
- Select and manage surgical instruments used during surgery.
- Assist the surgical team with various tasks during operations.
- Label and handle laboratory specimens for processing accurately.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons and nursing staff to ensure efficient surgical procedures.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and aseptic practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
