Job Summary
The Residential Journeymen Electrician will be responsible for the safe diagnosis, repair, installation, maintenance, and inspection of residential electrical systems and equipment within the Northwest Indiana Territory, specifically in Hobart, IN. This role requires the individual to possess technical expertise, sound judgment, compliance with safety protocols, thorough documentation skills, client education, and adherence to ethical practices.
Responsibilities
- Respond to a variety of service requests including installations, repairs, and maintenance in residential settings.
- Participate in company projects, mandatory meetings, training, and complete various job-related tasks.
- Carry out electrical work on residential systems, including but not limited to panels, breakers, circuits, and lighting.
- Utilize tools such as meters and power tools safely and in compliance with standards.
- Interpret technical documents including work orders, diagrams, and specifications.
- Provide professional and respectful service to clients at all times.
- Adhere to safety practices and regulations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and local laws.
- Maintain accurate documentation for each job using company systems and forms.
- Keep job sites and company vehicles organized and clean.
- Engage actively in required meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in residential electrical work.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and installing residential electrical systems.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Additional Skills
- Completion of trade school, technical school, or apprenticeship.
- Experience with EV charger installations.
- Background in training apprentices or junior technicians.
