Job Summary
The Travel Radiation Therapist position offers an opportunity for an ARRT Registered Radiation Oncology Therapist to take on a 13-week contract role in Mansfield, Ohio. In this capacity, the individual will be responsible for delivering radiation therapy treatments, aiding in treatment planning and simulations, maintaining precise treatment documentation, and engaging collaboratively with Radiation Oncology providers, patients, families, and hospital staff. The work schedule consists of Monday through Friday with no on-call duties or weekend shifts, designed to ensure a balanced work-life experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver radiation therapy treatments following physician instructions, departmental protocols, and tailored patient care plans.
- Accurately maintain daily treatment logs that encompass dosages, calculations, and other necessary documentation.
- Conduct simulations to gather treatment parameters, capture patient contours, and perform dose calculations when required.
- Manage and coordinate both inpatient and outpatient treatment schedules, effectively communicating with families and hospital staff.
- Regularly monitor patients’ conditions and progress, assessing factors such as weight, skin health, reactions, and various treatment-related changes.
- Support the Radiation Oncologist in executing brachytherapy procedures and fulfilling other radiation oncology support requirements.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Radiation Therapy.
- Possession of an Associate’s Degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology training program.
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy is mandatory.
- A valid Ohio Radiation Therapist license is required.
- Current BLS certification is also necessary.
