Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neuro Stepdown unit is crucial in providing specialized nursing care to patients recovering from neurological procedures or conditions. The role involves close monitoring and assessment of patients in a critical recovery phase, ensuring their safety and comfort while promoting healing and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs and neurological status constantly.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending physician.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding recovery processes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care provided in the medical record.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the respective state.
- Clinical experience in a neuro stepdown or similar critical care environment is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team framework.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
