Job Summary

The Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) will play a pivotal role in promoting and enhancing the organization’s mission through strategic fundraising, community outreach, and robust engagement initiatives. This leader will foster relationships with stakeholders, ensuring the organization achieves its goals effectively while building a sustainable future.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the organization’s objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Oversee and manage advancement activities including major gifts, planned giving, and annual campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to establish goals and track progress towards fundraising benchmarks.
  • Administer and enhance stewardship programs to engage and retain donors.
  • Lead a team of advancement professionals to achieve collective objectives.
  • Represent the organization at events, conferences, and community engagements to promote its mission and vision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience, preferably in fundraising or nonprofit management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to engage various stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising strategies and major gift solicitations.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing and mentoring a team.
  • Access to a network that can benefit the organization’s mission.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and work collaboratively.
