The Residential Counselor oversees the daily functions of permanent supportive housing facilities and provides assistance to residents regarding their mental health and substance use challenges. Key responsibilities include ensuring the security of the premises, organizing on-site activities, and collaborating with clinical and maintenance teams to deliver services. Ideal candidates should possess a foundational knowledge of homelessness issues and demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals exhibiting a range of complex behaviors. A bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral science, along with experience in residential property management, is preferred.
