Job description
Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Adolescent Medicine will be responsible for providing comprehensive care in a school-based health center setting in New York. This full-time position requires direct involvement with the adolescent population, addressing their medical needs and collaborating with various healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue orders for medications, laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures as needed.
- Engage in discussions with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.
- Collaborate with licensed practical nurses (LPN) and medical assistants (MA) to facilitate the ordering of medical supplies and relevant orders.
- Maintain compliance with registration requirements as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Form collaborative relationships with educational institutions and community partners to enhance care delivery.
Qualifications
- Ability to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Experience or training in adolescent medicine is highly preferred.
- Strong capacity for teamwork and effective communication skills.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and education.
