Job Summary
The Vascular Surgery Step Down RN provides specialized nursing care for patients recovering from vascular surgical procedures. This role requires the nurse to closely monitor patient conditions, administer medication, and respond to various patient needs in a fast-paced environment. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal recovery and promote patient well-being.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs and overall health status post-surgery.
- Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians, surgical teams, and other healthcare professionals to support patient recovery.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
- Document patient care activities and progress in electronic health records accurately.
- Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Experience in vascular or post-surgical care preferred.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
